  BOE call MS for meeting - anything to do with Elders School?

  last night all us servants were called to an important and critical meeting next week.

  no one would give me a heads up on it.

  our boe went to their secret squirrel school on boxing day last week so i can only assume its related to that.

  lol. The part on porn at that school was just as nuanced as the whole blood vs. fractions. You've got porn which is bad, but then there's abhorrent forms of porn, which is really really bad. Then an elder has to take into consideration whether the person viewed the kinda bad porn two or three times a month for three years, or once a month for 8 years. I thought my brain was gonna explode at one point. The way it was explained was like multipling Pi by the tangent ratio of a cosine, and then dividing by the sine. It was crazy.

  pages 433-437 inter alia, of the book "myers on evidence in child, domestic or elder abuse cases" fourth edition refers.. you can view this very informative material at google books.

  this shows how the watchtower's strict interpretation of the biblical two-witness rule is very much out of harmony with the modern legal system in matters of child sex abuse.

  j.r. brown, watchtower spokesman, is reported by the associated press on february 11, 2001 to have said:"...corroborating evidence can be used instead of a second witness to prove wrongdoing.

  Did the elder school thing a few weeks ago and they emphasized to the audience that all allegations should be investigated and reported to the branch, however, no action is to be taken by the elder body unless there is a confession or two credible witnesses. In the meantime elders are to monitor the person in question. They used Deuteronomy 19:15 & Matthew 18:16 to back their position. They also stated that the branch decides who is and who isn't a predator. After that part of it I understood why they didnt want any recording devices in the school, including tablets.

  Our congregation will have a 2 hour meeting for "sound system brothers" later this month (I $#!+ you not) about how to carry microphones and slide the volume control knobs on the sound system.

  Is it me, or does it seem like the people who would be the most capable of handling the sound system and all that's associated with it, are the ones that tend to not want to be bothered with reaching out? The ones that are zealous to handle such assignments are the ones that inevitably mess up the sound during the meeting? We need to have a 2 hour meeting with the sound system brothers in our congregation too.

  Seconding RubaDub, it's likely just a meeting to encourage Ministerial Servants to reach out and how they can go about it. They may even do a seperate meeting with baptized brothers who are not servants and encourage them to reach out and offer suggestions on how to do so as well.

  I love mentalities like this. Was America a God fearing nation when they were lynching blacks, or dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, enforcing their imperialism in Vietnam and more recently in the Middle East, supporting a dictator like Batista in Cuba, etc.. This country never had God in the picture, and never will. Then again, after reading the Old Testament.................

  Dessert after LUNCH??!!

  i've always had a real sweet tooth but when pioneering that was the first time i ever heard of anyone eating dessert after lunch in addition to dessert after dinner.. sometimes the few pioneers who cared about their weight would just have dessert for lunch, but i digress.. anyway, where i work we have a cafeteria and dessert comes with lunch.

  it's not healthy!

  i wish they didn't even offer it, because i have a hard time saying no.

  There's a spot down the street from where I work that isn't a bakery per say, but they bake their own cakes and sell em by square cuts. Somedays I get to thinking about that almond batter with white icing OMG. I already know that when I get off work after eating dinner I'm probably gonna get a cup of ice cream, so technically I shouldn't bother with cake too after lunch. Somedays the flesh gets weak.

  this is a question to admin / longer members.. have you noticed a greater influx of membership here since the 'new lighttm' regarding the 'governing body' was revealed?.

  From my time here it seems like new membership comes in phases and for the most part there's no definitive rhyme or reason why. However some time ago I thought there might be a trend with newbies joining the discussions here or lurking right after assemblies and conventions.

  2013 District Convention Headquarters Addresses, Dates, List!

  2013 district convention headquarters, addresses-united states and canada..this list is 10 pages long containing the addresses and above some of the locations you will see dates, such as, (june 15-18) or something like that.

  i think those dates indicate when the convention will be held at that location.

  help me out if i am wrong on that.
